WOE IS ME - SJ Brent

Being an old "folkie" I have always wanted to write a song with the lyric "woe is me" in it. This song is a humorous look at being miserable!

Stay Free > Woe is Me

I got the miseries, I found some loneliness inside
I got an eyeful of tears I just can’t hide
I gotta shake this or I’ll lose another night
I’m so bored of this inner discord
What a life!

I got the munchies,
I want something to eat
I’d like a plateful of something very sweet
I want to crunch things in between my teeth
I’m so tired of this eternal diet
Set me free!

I’ve been here before
I’ve sat and looked at these four walls
Wondered how to find the door

I thought I’d done it
I had the answers in my grasp
I thought I’d strum it
A happy song at last
I thought I’d won it the game was done and past
I was top of the class I was queen of the dance
What a laugh!

Oh Woe is me
Each time I find the door I drop the bloody key!

I think I’ll wallow self-indulge like mad
I need a cuddle from a friendly Galahad
Wish I could follow a slightly smoother path
But I’ll have a good time with this bottle of wine, make it last
And an old cliché says there’s another day
And I’ll be back!
