Musically my roots are folk and musicals... I love rhythm especially skin drums and percussion. I love most kinds of music, from blues to choral, as long as it makes me feel something! To dance with joy, to feel sexy, to feel included, to weep cathartically, to "pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again", this is what music is about for me. |

About the Artist > Stephanie BrentI have been drawing, painting, writing songs and singing, all my life. Artistically I love line, shape and colour. I have always found a blank sheet of paper and a pile of paints one of the most exciting moments, and one of the best therapies. I started painting mandalas when I was learning astrology, and thought I'd design a mandala for each sign. After that I started painting personal ones for birthday presents, using the symbols I understood from astrology and myths. As the years have flown I have discovered more about the use of the Circle around the world to describe and encompass the spirituallity of different peoples and their/our need to express our sacredness. Musically my roots are folk and musicals, so when I first started writing and performing, the lyrics and melody were the most important, now although I still want the words to be heard, I love rhythm especially skin drums and percussion. I love most kinds of music, from blues to choral, as long as it makes me feel something! To dance with joy, to feel sexy, to feel included, to weep cathartically, to "pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again", this is what music is about for me. Having been blessed with various life experiences I am now living in Rojales, Alicante, and loving it! |
