The Vesica Pisces is the intersection of two spheres - the God and Goddess - and the section where they merge becomes their offspring. Also thought of as the Eye of God, or the All seeing Eye, used in many images ancient and modern. Found in many medieval European churches (in two dimensions) dedicated to the Virgin Mary or Mary Magdalene (aka the Goddess). I felt drawn to add the Star of David as well, and at the time of painting I was reading a lot about portals and gateways.
